Chateau Les Vieux Ormes Lalande de Pomerol

Chateau Les Vieux Ormes Lalande de Pomerol, Bordeaux, France, 2019 (750ml)

TASTING NOTES

Lalande de Pomerol is an emerging satellite to the more famous Pomerol. Once considered the poor cousin to Pomerol, Lalande has garnered considerable attention over the past 20 years. A small stream, the Barbanne, is all that separates the two zones, yet many of the vineyards within Lalande share the same geology with Pomerol.

As is common with many Right Bank Bordeaux wines, this is a Merlot dominant wine. Just right for drinking now. It offers complex and inviting aromas and a vibrant palate that offers plenty of supple fruit and sweet spices. This is a serious wine with layered tannins, dry and satisfying.
Great with grilled steak and red meat, grilled salmon, mushroom based dishes and sauces, cheese.
