Los Frailes Bilogía, Valencia, Spain, 2018 (750ml)
A blend of Monastrell and Syrah, its personality makes it a dark, warm and complex wine. On the nose, it has intense aromas of red fruits, jam, cherries and plums; paired with smokey tones, notes of liquorice and coffee. On the palate, the fruit perfectly blends with the oak, showing sweet tannins followed by a round, rich and deep structure.
ABOUT THE WINE
Following a manual harvest, each variety is vinified separately. After a cold maceration pre-fermentation at 2ºC for 3 days to extract more the aromas, the must was fermenting in inox deposits at controlled temperature . Post fermentative maceration took 18 days for Syrah and 22 days for Monastrell. Monastrell was aged in concrete vats during 5 months and after went into oak barrels of 500L and Syrah was aged in oak barrels of 225L for 12 months.Varietals: Monastrell (50%), Syrah (50%)
